SSC CHSL 2019 notification: Staff Selection Commission to release Combined Higher Secondary Level examination notification
The Staff Selection Commission of India (SSC) has released the notification for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination, 2019. As per the notification released on the official website of the Commission, the online application submission for the SSC CHSL examination will begin from March 5, 2019. The last date to apply for the SSC CHSL exam is April 5, 2019.
The selection of the candidates will be on the basis of three phases - Phase I CBT exam; Phase II Written descriptive paper; and Phase III Typing speed.
The SSC CHSL Computer Based Test (CBT) would be conducted from July 1 to July 26.

Educational Qualification:
For LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA, DEO (except DEOs in C&AG):
The candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
For Data Entry Operator (DEO) in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG):
12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
Age Limit:
Age limit for the posts is 18-27 years as on 01-08-2019 (i.e. Candidates born not before 02-08-1992 and not later than 01-08-2001).
Application fee is Rs. 100/-
Exemption: No fee is required to be paid by female, SC, ST, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen candidates

Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Band -1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 1900 (pre-revised)
Postal Assistant (PA)/ Sorting Assistant (SA): Pay Band -1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised)
Data Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised)
Data Entry Operator, Grade A: Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised)
Exam Details: Tier-I (Computer Based Examination-Objective Type)
Exam dates: July 01 to 26, 2019
Exam duration: The total duration of the exam would be 60 Minutes
Subjects:
English Language (Basic Knowledge) - 25 question | maximum mark 50
General Intelligence - 25 question | maximum mark 50
Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) - - 25 question | maximum mark 50
General Awareness - - 25 question | maximum mark 50
Tier-II (Descriptive Paper)
Tier-II Paper will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks in 'Pen and Paper Mode'.
The duration of the Descriptive Paper would be for one hour. The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and a Letter/ Application of approximately 150-200 words.
Tier-III (Skill Test/ Typing Test)
Skill Test/ Typing Test for the qualified candidates will be conducted on computers provided by the Commission or its authorized agency.
It will be conducted as per the following scheme:
Skill Test for Data Entry Operator: Skill Test is mandatory for Data Entry Operators. The „Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on computer? will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage. The duration of the Test will be 15 (Fifteen) minutes and printed matter in English containing about 2000-2200 key-depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the Computer.
Typing Test for LDC/ JSA and Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant:
The medium of Typing Test will be Hindi and English. Candidates opting for English medium should have typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) and those opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 words per minute (w.p.m.). 35 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. correspond to about 10500 key depressions per hour and about 9000 key depressions per hour respectively. The speed will be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the Computer of a given text passage in 10 minutes.
