Economic Service/Statistical Service Exam 2017: The Union
Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Wednesday issued a notification announcing
examination date and procedure for applying for Indian Economic Service/Indian
Statistical Service Examination, 2017 on its official website.
Approximately
44 posts in 1) Indian Economic Service (15 posts) 2) Indian Statistical Service
(29 posts) would be filled through the examination.

Eligibility
criteria:

Indian
Economic Service:
All the
candidates interested in applying need to possess a Postgraduate degree in
Economics/ Applied Economics/ BE-Business Economics/ Econometric from a recognised
university/institute.
Indian
Statistical Service:
Interested
candidates need to posses a Graduation degree in Mathematical
Statistics/Applied Statistics/ Statistics/ or a Master's degree in the
Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a recognised
university/institute.
Age limit:
The minimum
age of applicants should be 21 years and maximum age should be 30 years.
Note:
Candidates shall be issued an e-admission certificate three weeks before the
commencement of the examination and will be available on the official website.
All the
candidates will be selected on the basis of a written test followed by an
interview round.
Fee Details:
Candidates
(excepting Female/SC/ST/PH candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are
required to pay a fee of Rs.200/- either by depositing the money in any Branch
of SBI by Cash or by using Net Banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner
and Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of
Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card
How to Apply:
Candidates
are required to apply online using the www.upsconline.nic.in
Detailed
instructions for filling up Online Applications are available on the
above-mentioned website. The applicants are advised to submit only single
application. However, if due to any unavoidable situation, he/she submits
another/multiple applications, then he/she must ensure that application with
the higher RID is complete in all respects like applicants details, examination
centre, photograph, signature, fee etc.
The
applicants who are submitting multiple applications should note that only the
applications with higher RID (Registration ID) shall be entertained by the
Commission and fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other
RID
All
candidates, whether already in Govt. Service, or in Govt. owned industrial
undertakings or other similar organizations or in private employment should
apply directly to the Commission
All the
applicants are required to provide valid and active email id and mobile numbers
while filling up online application forms as the Commission will be using
electronic mode for communication
